"American English Pronunciation: It's No Good Unless You're Understood" is an accent reduction program for international speakers of English. At the same time, it is rich in both formal and informal American expressions. The last page of each chapter contains exercises and cultural notes prompted, for the most part, by questions from students themselves. The program has been based on and proved successful with students from many countries. It is in use in universities, community colleges, libraries, on public television, in ESOL/EFL classes, and in the practices of speech-language pathologists. The program is in its second printing.
